This was a tough job. The windows on my 23 ft Glasply that i recently acquired are in pretty bad shape and have hard water marks etched in the glass.

This is a picture of the port side cuddy window after i tried cleaning it with a mixture of vinegar and baking soda. I scrubbed the mixture with a plastic scrubby for about 10 minutes then let it sit on the glass for 2 hrs before rinsing it off. As you can see it did absolutely nothing.

Next i tried to polish out the glass with some buffing compounds, the most aggressive i had. That did nothing at all. Maybe removed 5% that's all. So i decided to try sanding it out then polish the glass with Cerium Oxide.

I grabbed my 3" orbital sander and tried a 3000 grit sanding foam pad. Nope not yet, i kept going down in grit until i landed on 1500 grit. Even at that it took at least an 20 minutes to remove it. So now that it is clean and i start working my way up 1500, 2000, 3000, 5000.

Time to polish the glass. What i used is 99.6% Super optical grade cerium oxide what is perfect for light scratches/swirl removal on glass, windshields, and tempered glass. You mix this powder with water then buff it out with felt pad.

This is a picture of my window now. I still have another 5 minutes or so to get out a few more scratches left from the sanding process.

      Looks great.

This product will make any glass look like new! Just use a cotton towel no water and circular application. I learned of this product years ago from a Auto Glass Professional when I asked him how to get the hard water spots off the dark glass on my truck.

I use the product on many surfaces. Be aware there are many that COPY this product.

I had tried so many things I kinda thought the guy was full of BS until he did a small spot. I asked if i could buy it from him he said no since that was his last bottle. He did give me their contact info as they used to not be availably like they now are on AMAZOM for example.

I'm having a hard time finding it in Canada and the shipping right now from the US is retarded. Like 3X what it normally is.

That sucks! It's $22 on AMAZON as you probably found out. I shipped a "T" shirt from Palm Springs, California to Kelona, BC and it was $34.

If you come to the Rendezvous and still want some I would be happy to bring a bottle for you.

I am hoping to have it all detailed before the Rendezvous

Window screens in the 23 cuddy. Wify said to me why in the world would you want to keep those little pieces of window screen material. No wonder your shop looks like it does, you never throw anything out. Well guess what look at what i did with those little pieces today. Little bit of corrosion on frame but i have seen a lot worse.

I went to try and open one of the slider windows and that didn't go so well. The Flexible Flocked Rubber Glass Run Channel was so brittle it just fell apart. Here is the profile of the glass runner. I seen that Bill recently posted what he found but this looks different so i will post what I found.

                    M M SEALS B003-25F on Amazon, 25$ for 25’.

This is what I used on my 28. I found using the smaller dimension on the edge of the glass let it slide easier but still seal tightly at the lip.

I also cut drain holes on the bottom of the seal in the same places the window does since the felt does let some water through the outside edge.

Try vinegar without the baking soda. The acidity of the vinegar is what does the job and the baking soda neutralizes it.

i tried straight vinegar as well and it did nothing. I even soaked a paper towel in vinegar so it would stay wet longer

I grabbed a bottle of this at my local ACE store after reading your post, THANK YOU!! I had to remove the canopy on my truck to haul a large load and the rear window on my truck was absolutely disgusting! No cleaners I had would touch the water spots... I figured I was just going to have to leave it until I ran across your post. This product made the window look like new with just some minor elbow grease... I was going to use a buffer but didn't need to. Worked for me, thank you!!!!
