I was given a 1972 gp 17 runabout with a 3.0 mercruiser was wondering if these boats are a good boat, every part of this boat is in pretty sound shape, no soft spots anywhere, just needs some seats done

They are a very good boat although the 72ś have wood stringers if properly stored they will last many years and can handle a lot of rough water. Got any pics?

Took a day of soaking in sea foam to get it to turn over, was tiring for 5 years but a set of points and a coil and it started right up, ran it for about 2 hrs and the oil pressure was good as well as the temp. Alternator was even charging.....going to put it in the lake this weekend see what it does
