should clarify my 2 cents worth. Once on plane, (with our 23', cobra outdrive) we make trim adjustments (bow up/down) with the outdrive which will also increase/decrease speed/rpm. Once we get the sweet spot for speed/rpm with the outdrive trim (only for those that have this feature obviously) then we make latitude adj with trim tabs for load/active crew. On our 28', the old volvo outdrives did not have a trim feature so we had to make these adjustments with trim tabs. And, we've already commented on what the trim tabs down deployment will do to a 28' on stern quartering/following seas''' very uncomfortable.
